An era is coming to an end: Dodge muscle cars are produced exclusively with electric drive. Long regarded as the natural rivals to the equally iconic Ford Mustang, the Dodge Charger and Challenger next generation will be available exclusively in electric version.

“What is the current form of the Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger is coming to an end,” reads a statement from the brand.

Before the farewell, Dodge will present seven special limited edition versions of the Challenger and Charger with combustion engines.

The automaker explained that all motorists want to get their hands on it at all costs muscle car with a combustion engine, they will be able to do so thanks to seven new special versions, designed to say goodbye to the combustion engines and celebrate the history of the two cars.

We want to celebrate the end of an era and the beginning of a bright new electric future, while staying true to our brand and our history.

In Italy it is not very common to see the two muscle cars whizzing on the road, also because they are two niche cars that are mostly imported through specialized channels. However, in the US, they are two major icons of the auto industry.

In 2021, the Challenger was the sales champion in the muscle car segment, beating the Ford Mustang 54,314 to 52,384.

All seven special editions of the Dodge Charger and Challenger feature a ‘Last Call’ badge.
