Horses: soon the law against exploitation

The news of the ban on barrels throughout Italy represented a revolutionary decision for the ancient tradition of carriages drawn by animals. It was Patrizia Prestipino, deputy of the PD, who pushed the government to approve this agenda. Approval falls short in the middle of a hot season like summer 2022. The approved agenda sees the ban on the use of animals as a means of transport in Italy.

The Lega and Fratelli d’Italia opposed the approval. In the end, the order was passed with few votes. Here is the detailed wording of the agenda that commits the government to:

Prohibit the use of animals for the traction of vehicles and vehicles of all kinds used for the square service and for non-regular public services aimed at transporting people for tourist and recreational purposes, throughout the national territory.
