We all already know TikTok, and more and more users are joining this short video craze (although there aren’t that many anymore). Other social networks such as Instagram or Snapchat are relentlessly fighting to achieve it, releasing news to counter it.
Well, TikTok is also on the move and knows they are being followed, so new features are expected to reach this social network. In particular, today we bring you one that relates to a new channel.
We currently have two. While the main For You feed offers a mix of offers and content from the accounts you follow, the Follows feed focuses on your friends’ videos. However, users may soon be able to access a third feed called Nearby.
In this we can find interesting events and places around us by giving creators the ability to add location tags to their videos. According to social media consultant Matt Navarra, the new channel is being tested with Asian users, according to TechCrunch, and they will be able to see this new tab with others.
In this case, TikTok aims to win over Snapchat followers, as this app offers a similar solution through which they can explore a map with shared content nearby. On the Instagram side, we also recently announced their new feature to allow users to discover new places based on other people’s content.
With all this, there is no doubt that we will have a three-pronged fight, although it is true that TikTok and Instagram are gaining the upper hand, at least at the European level.
Keep in mind that TikTok is currently testing this feature., so it may not be available in the app or will not be deployed in the near future. Here, as always, everything depends on the degree of satisfaction observed among users.
