A recent study states that therainwater of the world has high levels of man-made chemicals cause tumors. the fabrics PFAS (perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl) have many applications, including firefighting foam, non-stick coating for frying pans and textiles. The Universities of Stockholm and Zurich have conducted analyzes and studies on the transport and presence of PFAS in recent years. These substances can be present in rainwater and snow, in remote locations such as Tibet and Antarctica.
These types of substances can cause diseases such as: cancer, immune system disorders, obesity and more. PFAS are very persistent in the environment. Recently the toxicity of these substances continued to increase. As a result, the guideline values of PFAS in drinking water, surface water and soil have decreased. However, the PFAS of the atmosphere does not decrease noticeably. This is because their degradation time is constantly returning them to the surface environment atmosphere.
Based on the latest US guidelines for PFOA in drinking water, rainwater would be considered unsafe to drink everywhere. Although we don’t often drink rainwater in our part of the world, many other people around the world, especially in poorer countries, expect it to be safe to drink.
