Over there US Airlines Raised nearly $2.5 million for groundbreaking research on cancer. All during .’s annual campaign fundraiser with Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C). This is the airline’s largest single contribution to SU2C. A solidarity mission that turns every cancer patient into a long-term survivor.
The unfortunate truth is that cancer has touched so many of us and our loved ones, and we are all honored to see the impact we can have together when we come together for a common cause. Thanks to the generosity of our customers and team members, our contribution to Stand Up will fund research that has the potential to change the fight against cancer and give us hope for the future.

The airline wanted to double the duration of the fundraising to two months by 2022. In August and September, customers received 25 American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles. This is for every dollar donated to SU2C of $25 or more. Stand Up to Cancer provides funding for collaborative teams and researchers who enable scientific breakthroughs in the field of cancer.
Since 2016, SU2C research has contributed to six new FDA-approved cancer treatments. These life-saving discoveries are made possible through the support of donors such as American Airlines, its customers and team members. We remain incredibly grateful for American’s continued support in our efforts to end this disease.
