Over there financial police he asked and got the seizure of 545 Telegram channels and groups engaged in the illegal distribution of illegal content: newspapers, magazines and magazines, movies, TV series and even books. The content was distributed for free, in violation of copyright.
The operation stemmed from a report by a Telegram channel that spread magazines and newspapers. The yellow flames soon realized that this was the tip of the iceberg: it was just one of many branches of a vast network of pirate channels. Some other groups also offered access to TV programs and the PPV.
The investigation led to the search of eight people living in Veneto, Piemonte, Lombardy, Emilia Romagna and Campania. In total, the network reached more than 430,000 subscribers. The conspiracy behind these channels – contrary to what is happening with the pezzotto – did not ask for a ‘donation’ for access to private groups, but on the other hand managed to monetize the general public by publishing a large number of affiliate links and advertising banners on a daily basis.
The operation carried out by the Special Protection of Privacy and Technological Fraud Unit of the Guardia di Finanza of Rome regarding the seizure of 545 illegal channels on Telegram that illegally shared content protected by copyright is good. The basin of users, more than 430 thousand, makes us aware of an underground phenomenon of important dimensions with decisive consequences for the future of the cultural content industry. For the audiovisual sector alone, we are talking about EUR 1.7 billion in damage to the country system and 9400 jobs at risk. It is essential not to be wary and the hope is that the new Parliament can resume as soon as possible the process started by the previous legislature regarding the new anti-piracy law
Federico Bagnoli Rossi, President of the Federation for the Protection of the Audiovisual and Multimedia Content Industries, was pleased.
