Palmer Luckey has mixed views on the metaverse by Meta and Mark Zuckerberg. “Zuckerberg is the biggest fan of virtual reality,” said the Oculus founder, adding that Project Horizon should be compared to a concept car. So yes, it’s flawed and expensive, leading to mixed results.

“I do not think so Horizon World is a good product,” he said of Meta’s virtual reality social network. “It’s not cool, it’s not fun and I think a lot of the people working on it agree, ‘it’s not a successful product'”.

Palmer Luckey founded and sold Oculus, the most important and best-known manufacturer of virtual reality headsets. In 2014, he sold his company to Facebook for $2 billion. Today the headsets have been renamed and no longer use the brand Oculus.

Luckey has not worked for Facebook since 2016, when he was fired after it was discovered that he had donated money to some right-wing movements. Today, the entrepreneur works for his new company: Anduril Industries, a startup that deals with products and software for Defense.

Mark Zuckerberg is the biggest fan of virtual reality in the world. He has invested more time and money in this technology than all the others combined. Horizon Worlds is a terrible product today, but tomorrow it could be great

he said, but added that Facebook is “in the best position to be successful in the long run”.
