Over the past few years, Apple has improved one of the most useful features of its mobile phones. iPhone of any generation, iPhone 14 or iPhone 13, have AirDrop as one of the most useful features and in fact, many Apple smartphone users welcome this feature.

The ability to send items such as photos, videos, messages, audio, and files automatically and without the need for multiple actions at the touch of a button is typical of Apple devices. Also, all this is sent to any apple device that is nearby or, if we do it on purpose, to which we want it to come.

The capabilities of this feature allow you to send content of any type to both Apple devices that work with iOS or with any of the Cupertino operating systems, as well as sharing items with completely unknown people. This feature may seem useless, but the reality is different.

And exactly what was seen in the demonstrations that took place in China, the ability to instantly send files of any type to a lot of people, led Apple to decide to change this AirDrop feature in its iphone. Yes, you read it right. It seems that this feature has been changed due to its huge utility..

AirDrop is losing one of its best features

Apple didn’t provide any information about why it decided to change this feature on its phones. Also, as noted by The Verge, andThis feature would have changed with the release of iOS 16.1.1 and would only be seen in China.although it will also reach other countries.

A date for when this AirDrop change will apply to the rest of Apple’s mobile phones has yet to be set, though expected next year. It is possible that this feature will be activated in the first months of 2023, since an update is not required for integration into the new version of iOS.

The change, while drastic, doesn’t completely eliminate AirDrop’s functionality. Now, if you want to send any type of message to strangers, it will only be done for 10 minutes instead of endlessly like before.. We’ll have to wait to see if users are complaining about this new limitation and if it doesn’t respond to logical reasons.
