If you live in a big city and it has a Low Emissions Zone (ZBE), you probably have something to do with the concept of an eco-label. At first they were only supposed to inform, but now they regulate who can and who cannot enter these areas.
These are usually the B mark and the C mark as they correspond to diesel and petrol vehicles from the last 15 years.. Above them are the ECO marking and the 0 marking, which have great privileges when driving through the LEZ.
Vehicles with the environmental label B include gasoline vehicles registered after 2000 and diesel vehicles registered since 2006, as well as vehicles with more than 8 seats and trucks registered since 2005.
And, therefore, there is a category below label B. It does not exist as such, but is known as the A tag. Label A “has” all those vehicles that are not eligible for labeling, since the current lowest is label B.
Cars that “bear” the “A” mark are gasoline engine cars registered before 2000 and diesel engine cars registered before 2006. So if you have a 99 petrol car and a 2005 diesel car, your car has an A rating, which is the lowest for DGT.
We are extending the notification period in Madrid until May 1st. #Low emission zone #ZBE which gradually limits the movement of the most polluting vehicles
The expansion will offer citizens greater legal certainty.

This also includes motorcycles before 2003, if instead of a car you have a motorcycle for getting around the city.
Keep in mind that Since May 1, the circulation of passenger cars without the DGT eco-label has been banned in Madrid. or with an A label inside an M-30 that is not registered in the capital city of Madrid.
