For those who love technology and extraordinary devices, CES 2023 is an event not to be missed. After a few innovations of all kinds, now a new urine scanner for home use. This is true, U-Scan A tool you pee on to get information about your health.

The product is from Withings and is still in the concept stage. The idea is to have a device that you can use to test your bodily fluid daily, but without having to touch it. U-Scan connects to your mobile phone via Wi-Fi and sends your urine information directly to the Withings app.

U-Scan currently has two types of cartridges to choose from and each has a different test type. The first is Cycle Sync, which takes overall measurements of LH hormones, pH levels, and the hydration of your urine. LH levels help to understand a person’s menstrual cycle and predict the ovulation window.

The second is called Nutri Balance and is more geared towards keeping track of your diet. It also measures pH and hydration, but also tells you the level of vitamin C found in your urine and ketones.

According to the manufacturer, the U-Scan activates automatically when you pee on it, and the device can still detect who did it to ensure it’s only measuring the results of the same person each time. Each cartridge has about 100 tests before it needs replacing, but Withings didn’t say how long the sensor’s battery lasted. It charges via USB-C.

The product is currently being tested in partnership with hospitals and is seeking approval from health regulatory agencies. Withings is looking to start selling the U-Scan in the second quarter of this year with two cartridges at €499.95 MSRP. Users will have the option to purchase individual cartridges.
