At its Visionon event, Intel announced a new service that addresses a key core security issue for businesses. Proposed by the company’s CTO, Greg Lavender, the new service will allow applications that require a high degree of security to run securely within a company, even if they are using different clouds and/or servers.

The new service is suitable for use across different clouds and does not depend on certain products, which are called agnostic. Data can be secured throughout the entire process: whether in processing or at rest. The special thing is that this security is usually in the hands of a cloud provider, so securing the process can be difficult if using multiple clouds and/or your own servers. Intel’s new service, Project Amber, aims to simplify this process by operating independently of the cloud provider.
