The supports are aluminum. The quality of the edges is very good, there are no manufacturing flaws, it is immediately clear that the processing of the material was carried out on high-precision equipment.
The width of one plate is 150mm and the transverse thickness of the sheet is 2.5mm
Silicone “caps” are necessary so that the edges of the mount do not scratch the body of the device placed on it. A drawback immediately appeared – these “caps” spontaneously come off when the device is removed from the central slot of the bracket.
These connecting pieces are made of hard silicone. They are used to articulate the two halves of the supports in a complete structure. They must be threaded into special gutters that run the length of the supports. It is necessary to make a little effort, since they fit quite tightly, but the finished structure will also be reliable.
The legs are glued approximately in those places. Thanks to them, the stand will not slide on the table.

The weight of the stand finished with “full uniform” is about 400 grams.
Exploitation
For starters, we’ll fit a compact Thinkpad X240 laptop with a 12.5″ screen size. The design quietly holds the device, both in landscape and portrait orientation.
The laptop is larger, with a screen diagonal of 15.6″. It may seem that if you push a little, the structure will fall down. But it doesn’t. In the vertical state of the laptop, the stand is still stable, while in the horizontal position, the stability of the structure is even greater, when lifting the laptop, the silicone inserts fall off the upper edges.
And the secret to sustainability is simple. When we place the device in the middle slot, it rests with its weight on the connection bridge, at the same time, the aluminum halves of the bracket compress the device in the place where the silicone “caps” are placed, and the design it becomes almost monolithic in one piece with the center of gravity at the bottom. Generally speaking, you can imagine a clothespin that weighs 400 grams and has a base of 85 x 150 mm, grab the edge of the laptop with it and put it down. More or less the same here. To loosen the “grip”, the laptop must be pulled out, and not to the left or right, but strictly upwards to loosen the pressure on the connecting silicone bridge.
conclusions
The Orico booth is easy to underestimate, the latest photos with laptops can even scare someone due to the apparent instability of the design. However, in order to debunk these thoughts, he must use it with his own eyes, then it will become clear that the stability here is enough not to knock him over with the device when accidentally touching it with his hand. For added peace of mind I recommend placing it along the wall. In general, the accessory from Orico copes with its tasks: it conveniently organizes access to devices and saves space on the table.
