Depending on the age of our vehicle and the function it performs, we must pass the Technical Inspection, avoiding a series of tests, one of the tests that drivers fear the most. This is the ITV smoke test.
And yes, the Technical Inspection of Vehicles (ITV) is a mandatory test that all vehicles in circulation must pass from time to time with numerous inspections by technicians, but perhaps the most dangerous test for all drivers is the emissions test.
Specifically, it refers to the smoke test or the ITV emissions test, although its official name is opacity testand, as you can imagine, it is designed to ensure that vehicles in circulation do not exceed legal carbon emission limits.

And while the key to passing this test is rigorous vehicle maintenance, there are a couple of tricks you could do before taking the ITV.
One of them is that before passing through the ITV station is to make a trip of about 15 or 20 minutes, circling in low gears and higher modes than usual. Thanks to this, we will be able to increase the amount of fuel injected into the cylinders, and thus create a greater flow of gases. In doing so, we will be burning more carbon, which is why many cars fail this test.
Another trick is to use pre-supplement ITV which is a compound that is poured into the fuel tank and cleans the injectors, although after that we have to drive about 80 km to get results.
