Panasonic has announced its new line of OLED and LCD televisions. TVs come in sizes from 42″ to 77″ and feature the latest generation panels and new gaming features.

The LZ2000 is top of the line OLEDs. It is available in 77″, 65″ and 55″ sizes and features a panel called “Master OLED Pro” with even higher contrast and color reproduction than regular OLED panels. Just below that is the LZ1500 (42″ to 65″), 42″ and 48″ There is also the LZ1000, which uses a non-professional version of the ‘Master OLED’ configuration. The definitive difference between the two is then not there they are two regular OLED models: LZ980 and LZ800.

For LCD TVs, Panasonic mainly cites higher brightness as an advantage. The LX940 includes an ‘HDR Cinema Display Pro’ panel with local dimming. From the LX800, 75″, 65″ and 55″ come in ‘HDR Cinema Display’ format and 50″ and 43″ come with ‘Bright Panel Plus’ screens.

Panasonic has also thought of gamers: all OLED TVs and LX940 LCD support variable refresh rate (up to 120 Hz) in 4k resolution. These models are also FreeSync Premium certified. For 60 Hz games there is a ’60 Hz Refresh Mode’ which should significantly reduce the input lag in these games. There is also a ‘Game Dashboard’ layer that displays, among other things, the number of images per second.

Prices and result dates are still unknown, but the TVs are in any case readily available on Panasonic’s English website.
