Microsoft has released a new sound recorder app on its Dev channel for Windows 11 Insiders: Sound Recorder. The app will replace the Voice Recorder app.

The biggest difference from its predecessor is its new look. The recorded audio is now visualized and the recording and playback controls are now in the same bar making everything look much smoother. It’s also made easier to set up a different recorder via a drop-down menu in the app itself.

Sound Recorder will be tested on various Windows Insider channels in the near future. As a result, it should replace the current recording app Voice Recorder for all Windows 11 users.
