The President confirmed the rescue with the words, “A joy for the whole country! 4 children who were lost in the Colombian jungle 40 days ago survived.”

President Petro’s wife, Verónica Alcocer García, also spoke about the rescue operation. On his Twitter account, he wrote: Endless gratitude to the Military, Indigenous communities, ICBF and everyone who worked day and night to help the four children return safely from the jungle. Thank God for giving them the strength to resist! Let’s celebrate life today and always.
Mayor Claudia López also expressed her happiness. Via this social network, “How happy is this great news! Those 4 little big heroes! They survived +40 days in the middle of the forest! Thanks to the Government and the Military Forces They Didn’t Give! And today I hug their families who are the happiest!”
On the other hand, the ex-presidential candidate Sergio Fajardo also congratulated the search teams on his Twitter account.
“Happy! Thanks to the search teams who worked hard and didn’t give up. After all, life is tasked with giving us hope over and over again. Take care of them very much. May they live in peace,” he trembled.

Medellín mayor Daniel Quintero Calle and Senator María José Pizarro also posted messages of joy and support on this social network.
“A miracle in the jungle. A plane crash took their mother and everyone who watched them. 4 children aged 13, 9, 4 and a 12-month-old baby 39 days old lost in the forest. They took care of each other. … The army mobilized on the orders of the President. They appeared alive.” Quintero wrote.
As for Representative Pizarro, “Thanks to the Military, the Indigenous Guards and Wilson, who deserves all the awards, this is comforting news, because I keep looking for them. All of Colombia celebrates the children and the appearance of Wilson alive.
Senator Maria Fernanda Cabal and former President Álvaro Uribe also spoke on the subject.
The Cabal tweeted, “The news of the rescue of 4 children lost in the forests of Caquetá is a great joy for the country. Thanks to our Military Forces and other officials.”
Uribe, for his part, “The discovery of children is a great relief for the Motherland. And to overcome the suffering of solidarity that lies in the hearts of all Colombian families.”
Ingrid Betancourt also celebrated with a hopeful post via her social networks.
“The news that fills with hope and joy! The 4 little ones lost in the jungle of Guaviare were rescued safely thanks to the tireless efforts of God and our armed forces,” he wrote.
Minister of National Defense Iván Velásquez Gómez congratulated the Colombian Military Forces and those involved in the operation.
