Unlike many other competitors, including Netflix, Disney + it doesn’t lose subscribers. On the contrary, the platform continues to grow. Disney held its final earning call this Wednesday to discuss its first quarter 2022 results with shareholders.

From January to March, Disney+ has gained nearly 8 million new subscribers 7.9 million, to be exact. Overall, today’s on-demand streaming service 137.7 million subscribers Pay. Better than analysts expected, who predicted a total of 135 million subscribers.

Subscribers grew 33% from a year ago when Disney+ had 103.6 million subscribers. Disney generates an average of $6.32 in written revenue (+5% from 12 months ago). In total, Disney’s subscription services (including those of EPSN) have 205 million subscribers.

Bob Chape, the CEO of Disney, explained that in addition to streaming, the theme parks division has also done very well. “We have proved once again that we are playing in our own league,” he added, referring to the disappointing performance of most other publicly traded companies. But despite these extraordinary results, Disney stocks still closed with a 3% loss yesterday.

The results of Disney+ are astonishing. The other streaming giants are in dire straits: Netflix has lost more than 200,000 subscribers and expects to lose even more. CNN had to shut down its on-demand service just 1 month after its debut.
