All signs on the facades of Moscow buildings will be illuminated from 2025. This is necessary for convenience and to achieve a unified urban image, said Deputy Mayor for Urban Development Policy and Construction Vladimir Efimov.

The transition period will last for several months. During this time, the capital entrepreneurs will have time to present the new requirements, said Vladimir Efimov.
He also recalled that previously the lighting of billboards in the capital was optional. According to the deputy mayor, the innovation will improve the quality of the urban environment, increase the comfort and safety of citizens during the evening and at night.
At the same time, the new standard does not apply to signs in shop windows, displays of objects or free-standing information structures.
In addition, the use of signs containing curses, obscene expressions and their derivatives is prohibited in Moscow, Efimov explained.
