Tesla opened the booking process for semi-finished productsits electric truck is officially unveiled in 2017. Elon Musk’s company is already ready to receive money from buyers who want to guarantee the priority of ordering one of the first units of the vehicle, which will appear only sometime in 2023, until there are no more delays.
Those interested in booking a Tesla Semi must pay $20,000 US automaker: USD 5,000 by credit card and USD 15,000 by bank transfer within 10 days of the first payment.
In case the client wishes to include more than one Tesla Semi vehicle in the same booking, he will have to pay 20,000 USD for each unit. And it’s important to remember that only the initial $5,000 will be refunded if a refund is requested before the remaining amount is paid. If the user decides to cancel the order after making a deposit, he will lose it completely.
As for the timing, Tesla still doesn’t offer too many details.. Elon Musk’s firm clarifies that the booking provides only “rough priority” for ordering a Tesla Semi, and that the delay in ordering will depend on various factors such as “development, production, and production schedules.”
Tesla Semi can now be reserved
That Tesla opened up the booking process for the Semi has different implications. On the one hand, he seeks to silence criticism from those who have accused Elon Musk’s company of creating expectations for a product that was talked about more because of its delay than because of the benefits it will bring to the EV market.
On the other hand, this practical way to deposit money and this has already proved very useful with other models produced by the company. After all, this is money that customers “loan” to the company in exchange for a promise to guarantee something they can only get in a few years, and Tesla doesn’t have to pay interest on it.
The truth is that Tesla revived interest in the Semi in just a few hours. Recall that large companies such as DHL and Walmart have already expressed interest in purchasing the car as soon as it was presented to the public.
Interest in Tesla’s electric truck is resurgent

The Tesla Semi was officially unveiled in 2017 under the promise of revolutionizing land transportation. Electric truck promises a number from 500 to 800 km on a single battery charge, combining aesthetics and spectacle which have already become the calling card of Tesla.
The car uses four engines, one for each wheel, and promises to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 5 seconds (without a semi-trailer). Other standout features are its windshield, which Tesla says withstands even nuclear explosionsand the absence of rear-view mirrors, replaced by a system of cameras and screens.
Tesla Semi starting price is $150,000 or $180,000, depending on autonomy. Tesla originally intended to start production from 2019, although that date has been slowly pushed back. The scope is now set to 2023, as was the case with the Cybertruck.
