The site of the State Police it has been unreachable for several hours, if you try to open it you will be held hostage by an infinite load. This is due to a cyber attack, which has already been claimed by the Russian hacker collective’Killnet

Killnet had already successfully launched a series of Ddos attacks on several other portals of Italian institutions: from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to that of Defence. In recent days, they have targeted several other countries, all of which have united since joining the BORN or their support for Ukraine. Not just Italy: also attacks on the site of the German police and the institutions of more than 10 European countries.

Killnet argues that the attack on the state police is retaliation. The Italian police officers are defined as “liars” because they are said to have announced that they have a… attack on Eurovision Song Contest which, however – the hackers argue – would never have happened. So the joke: “Have you defended yourself against our attacks on Eurovision yet? Well, you will have no problem recovering your site”.

As for last week’s attacks, also in this case we are faced with a DDoS attack: Using botnets, hackers bomb the target’s computer systems with packets, saturating their capacity and temporarily shutting down the site.

While DDoS attacks are often not considered particularly sophisticated or particularly dangerous, Killnet stood out for using a hybrid technique that renders the most common anti-DDoS systems relatively ineffective.
