Overall, over 1.4 thousand phishing resources imitating the Wildberries website were discovered and blocked in 2023 and the first half of 2024, and more than half of this figure occurred in the first half of 2024.

Among the phishing domains identified in the first half of the year, only a fifth (21%) are directly linked to the Wildberries brand; the remaining 79% do not contain the market name in the address, which, Solar notes, makes them difficult to find.

“More than half of all phishing sites cannot be detected by conventional automated monitoring tools. In such cases, the user does not reach the malicious site directly, but only after a series of redirects, which makes automatic monitoring of such resources impossible,” the press release states.

Advanced monitoring mechanisms are used to detect such resources, but it is not specified which ones.

Most malicious resources aim to steal sensitive data and money from Wildberries buyers, but some of them (about 10%) try to gain access to sellers’ personal accounts.
