Based on a screenshot leaked from the Sonos app, it’s been a while (November 2021) that we’ve been able to let you know that the speaker manufacturer will be working on a smaller and more affordable version of its Sub-subwoofer. This version, which christened the Sub Mini, took an eternity later, but according to The Verge it will appear on the market really soon.

While the Mini is expected to take its place on the shelves at a more affordable price, it is not yet clear how low this price will actually be. In fact, not much is known about the release date yet. Meanwhile, there has been a lot of speculation on Reddit that the price of such a device will likely be in the $450-$550 range.

Regardless, The Verge reports that it has seen an official render of the upcoming Sub Mini, and it looks exactly like the leaked screenshots that ignited the first rumors in November 2021. The smaller version is quite reminiscent of the original Sub, but looks much more compact. The device can be described as being housed in a ‘pill shape’ with the recess remaining in the center of the housing. For now, further details regarding specific functions and capabilities are unknown.
