NAD Electronics is launching the C 389 HybridDigital DAC, an amplifier with a respectable number of connections and a relatively reasonable suggested retail price of 1500 Euros. The C 389 should launch sometime this summer.
The C 389 HybridDigital DAC is designed around the 32-bit and 384kHz Technology Saber DAC chip, a chip known for its exceptional and low amount of noise and distortion. The amplifier has 130 watts per stereo channel (8/4 ohm) and supports two speaker outputs. There are also two subwoofer outputs, a pre-amp output and a headphone connection (with separate amplifier).
As in other models, the company still uses the Modular Design Construction principle. Allows MDC powered components to be connected to the C 389 HybridDigital DAC; So users can expand the amplifier with additional functions. For example, NAD makes a BluOS module to enable multiroom transponder.
