Audio company Denon presented three new products at the High End trade show in Munich: the high-power amplifier PMA-1700NE, the slightly more affordable PMA-900HNE and the DCD-900NE CD player.

The PMA-1700NE is an integrated amplifier with 140W per power channel. In addition to analog, there are optical and coaxial inputs. The 1700NE can also play high-resolution USB digital audio, DSD streams up to 11.2MHz, and 384kHz/32-bit PCM formats. The amp is built to last, with a vibration-proof design and the highest quality components. But of course you pay for that too, the PMA-1700NE will be available from June for 1999 Euros.

If that’s a little over budget, you have a PMA-900HNE for half the money. This amplifier has less power (85W per channel), but has built-in support for various streaming services via WiFi, Bluetooth or AirPlay 2. Like its big sibling, the 900NHE has analog and digital (coaxial and optical) inputs, but the maximum sampling rate/bit depth is slightly lower on this model: 192 kHz/24-bit up to 5.6 MHz for PCM and DSD. The PMA-900HNE will be available from July for 999 euros.

Denon also has a CD player that matches the DCD-900NE. The player features Denon’s AL32 Processing Plus signal processing, which, according to the company, should produce impressive results. The DCD-900NE can also play from USB (PCM up to 192 kHz/24-bit, DSD up to 5.6 MHz). The CD player will be available from June for 499 euros.
