Apple TV+ wants to get the most out of its productions. Since its launch, the platform has been offering additional content related to its most popular series. He wants to do something similar with the release of his next film. For this reason, It will also release an expanded version of “Napoleón” in addition to the one set to hit theaters in November 2023.

According to Napoleon director Ridley Scott’s statements to Total Film Magazine, While the theatrical version is 2 hours and 38 minutes, the extended version will run for 4 hours.. With this, the director plans to take full advantage of his publishing freedom to develop the story’s key characters and situations in much more depth.

Apple TV+ will stream two versions of “Napoleon”

Ridley Scott’s proposal to make both versions was made possible thanks to the technical resources available. They managed to record the project, which included the staging of six epic battles, in just 62 days.

“Every scene is geometry. We shot Napoleon in 62 days with 11 to 14 cameras. Now I shoot Gladiator 2 in 54 days because I don’t do 50 takes with one camera and then come back.”

“Napoleon” tells the story of the ruler’s rise and fall and the impact of his relationship with Josephine. The film features six epic battle depictions involving cannon, horse and infantry fire, showcasing the emperor’s magnificent battle strategy.

Apple TV+ will stream both the theatrical version and the director’s cut, allowing viewers to choose how much they want to dive into the world of Napoleon Bonaparte. This will be the first time the Apple TV+ service has offered multiple versions of the same game on its platform.

A few weeks ago, the platform released a two-and-a-half-minute trailer offering a glimpse of the movie starring Oscar-winning actor “Joker” Joaquin Phoenix and Vanessa Kirby, known for her performance in Netflix’s “The Crown.” Josephine. Following the premiere of “The Killers of the Flower Moon” on October 20, ‘Napoleon’ will be the second Apple movie to be released in theaters before streaming on Apple TV+. The theatrical release date of Ridley Scott’s film has been determined as November 22.
