“Franklin” is based on the book “A Great Improvisation: Franklin, France, and the Birth of America” ​​by Pulitzer Prize winner Stacy Schiff.. The adaptation was written by Kirk Ellis, who also wrote John Adams, one of HBO’s most awarded series.
