Bug fixes and other improvements
AirPods Pro has a new update
If you want to update AirPods to this new version of the firmware, you must follow the steps below and be a little patient. Updating AirPods isn’t as easy as updating an iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch. Apple guarantees this Update occurs automatically when your iPhone, iPad or Mac is near AirPods.
Firmware updates are sent periodically while your AirPods are charging and within Bluetooth range of your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
It is true that we can try to “force” the AirPods update. The first thing we recommend Connect the AirPods to the iPhone as you normally do, go to Settings and the “AirPods” menu that appears at the top, and look for the firmware version below is. If they don’t have the latest version the normal thing to do would be to wait; but you can follow these steps to try installing the update on your AirPods 3 first:
- Keep your AirPods in the charging case.
- Connect the case to the charger using the Lightning cable.
- AirPods must be connected to your iOS device.
- Obviously, your iPhone or iPad must be connected to the internet.
- We don’t know exactly when, but by leaving the two devices close together for a while, AirPods will update itself to the latest version.
- It is easier to update devices if their battery life is 100%.
