The autopsy results of the Colombian doctor Edwin Arrieta, who was killed by the Spanish young Daniel Sancho, have been announced.

Evidence suggests that the surgeon died after being cut by Sancho. Suachate Hakparn, number two, who is handling the Thai Police’s investigation into the August 2 crime, assured EFE on Monday.

“We already have the conclusive results of the autopsy. According to the (criminal) evidence at the crime scene, they had a fight first. Daniel punched him, then the doctor (Arrieta) fell and hit his head in the sink, but he hit it. In an interview with Thai Police Deputy Director EFE, “Not at the moment, “According to forensics,[Sancho]died when he started slitting his throat,” he said.

Sancho has been temporarily detained in Koh Samui prison in southern Thailand since August 7 after confessing to killing Arrieta.

Nicknamed the ‘Big Joke’, Surachate assured they had “sufficient evidence” and hoped the police investigation report would be sent to the prosecutor’s office this week. so the trial can begin in three to six months.

“It can be said that this case has already been closed and completed. (…) The case was quickly resolved,” he said.

“Now the Police is preparing the final report to send to the prosecutor’s office before this Friday,” said the police officer overseeing the investigation.

Police have 83 days to investigate, which began with Sancho’s pre-trial detention on August 7.

It was previously claimed that Sancho stabbed Arrieta in the left side of the chest during a fight, but the cause of death was unknown as autopsy results were not available at the time.

The ‘Big Joke’ referred to the punch, not the stabbing, and said the autopsy results were ‘conclusive’.

“The cause of death was confirmed to be a cut to the neck, not a stab wound to the chest. So the chest part is already second to the main cause of death. Even if we don’t have that part, the Court can still decide that it wasn’t an accident,” he said.

Surachate also admitted that in his meeting with EFE today: There are still parts to be found from Arrieta’s body. and one of them is the body where the surgeon believes the cell phone can be found.

Sancho’s re-examination by police officers at the Koh Samui prison last Wednesday showed that the investigation was ongoing, even though Surachate media announced the previous day that the case was closed.

Sancho, 29, was charged with premeditated murder by Police after he confessed to killing and dismembering 44-year-old Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta on the Thai island of Phangan on August 2.

Sancho and Arrieta, who met on Instagram last year, met in Koh Phangan on August 2, the day the surgeon whose remains were found in various parts of the island, including the sea, was killed and dismembered.

The deputy director of Thai Police also assured this Monday that they are “ready” to repatriate the body of doctor Edwin Arrieta.

In Bangkok, “We are, on our part, ready to repatriate him. Personally, I understand that this must be done as soon as possible so that the necessary ceremonies and rituals can be carried out.”

He added, however, that he should still “talk to the (Colombian) Ambassador about their willingness to repatriate the body”.

The Colombian Embassy in Thailand did not comment.

Last week, Arrieta’s family, through their lawyer Miguel González, said they were satisfied with the course of the investigation by Thai authorities, calling for the sentence to be “fairly severe for the seriousness of the facts”.

This was expressed by González in a phone call with EFE, adding that the family hopes the surgeon’s remains “will be repatriated to their country as soon as possible, after all the requirements of justice have been met, so that their parents can deliver.” her Christian burial” in his hometown of Lorica, in the Caribbean part of Córdoba.
