Samsung has indirectly announced that it is working on a smart ring through the Galaxy Wearable application. The device, called Galaxy Ring, is planned to be released in 2024.
This discovery is not entirely unexpected. The company hinted at the existence of this product when it registered two devices with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) last March. One of them, the smart ring, was referred to as ‘Galaxy Ring’ in the documents.
It was also learned in July that Samsung was collaborating with the Japanese company Meiko, which specializes in components, to develop this device.

The code also revealed that Samsung has developed a dedicated app for the Galaxy Ring. This app will allow smart ring owners to personalize their devices and access certain features.
According to patent information, the primary function of the Galaxy Ring is to act as a health and wellness tracking device. You will be equipped to record and analyze information regarding health, physical activity and sleep patterns. This data is then sent directly to the ‘user’s smartphone’, enabling seamless integration and providing valuable information about the user’s health.
