Facebook has announced a new feature that will allow users to create and manage multiple personal profiles on the platform.

This feature aims to facilitate personalization of the user experience by allowing the separation of personal and professional relationships.

The ability to create multiple personal profiles will allow users to more easily organize who they share content with and what content they view based on different aspects of their lives.

For example, A user may have a profile dedicated to their passion for food and another profile aimed at staying in touch with friends and family.

Although Facebook currently offers controls to determine who content is shared with, the multiple personal profile feature will give users additional tools to organize their friends, groups, and interests.

The rollout of this feature will be gradual throughout the world in the coming months.

Some features Facebook like Couples, Marketplace, pro mode and payments will not be available initially for additional personal profiles.

However, messages can be sent to these profiles in the Facebook application and on the web, and they are expected to be able to use Messenger in the coming months. The option to create additional personal profiles will be available for adult accounts only.

Additionally, additional personal profiles will have separate privacy and notification settings. This means that the settings of one profile will not affect the others.

Users can choose any name for their additional profiles, but their main Facebook account must continue to use the name they use in their daily lives.
