National Service for Comprehensive Care of Adults Deprived of Their Liberty and Adolescent Offenders (SNAI) Ecuador has confirmed the killing of 6 Colombian hitmen involved in the crime of presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio.

“After the institutions responsible for removing the bodies carry out the necessary tests, it would be appropriate to declare that the 6 people who lost their lives inside were deprived of their liberty (PPL). Guayas Center for Deprivation of Liberty (CPL) N°1 responds to: Jhon Gregore R., Andrés Manuel M., Adey Fernando G., Camilo Andrés R., Sules Osmin C. and José Neyder L.”
And they added: “All of those deprived of their liberty are Colombian citizens and are accused of murdering former president Fernando Villavicencio. The National Government condemns this fact and affirms its political will to cooperate with relevant investigations to identify those intellectually responsible for the crime committed by the former candidate.“.

EL TIEMPO reported that the incidents occurred for the first time Following the riot that broke out at Litoral Prison (in Guayaquil) at four o’clock in the afternoon of Friday, October 6th.
President Lasso spoke from the X account, hours after the news of the riot in the 7th mansion was learned.
“Following information regarding six crimes that occurred at Deprivation of Liberty Center No. 1, I urgently arranged a meeting with the Security Cabinet in Guayaquil. I will be returning to Ecuador in the next few hours to deal with this emergency. Neither complicity nor cover-up, here the truth will come out“said the president.
Villavicencio’s political rival, Rafael Correa, also said in a message against Lasso: “My God! If these are the Villavicencio hitmen, this confirms that the Government is behind the crime”.
