Born in Guamo (Tolima), Julio worked as a soldier and security guard in Colombia. He decided to go to Europe in mid-August 2023 to look for better job opportunities. He said goodbye to his mother, brothers, girlfriend and two daughters, with whom he promised to keep in constant contact. He traveled with three other Colombians.

“I only ask God that the times to come will be better, that he will give me the strength to change everything that affects me, that he will give me the courage to continue fighting for what I want, and that his love will brighten my life,” she wrote. in a social media post when he set foot on Polish soil.

Tychy Police were alerted to screams and explosions coming from the house. When we arrived around 2 a.m., Julio was lying on the floor. He would be attacked from behind with a sharp weapon.

“The 34-year-old man died despite police and paramedic efforts to resuscitate him,” the police said in their official report.

Another Colombian had cuts on his body from blunt objects. The person, who was taken to the health center for medical evaluation, did not need to be hospitalized because his injuries were not serious.

Four Colombians, aged between 21 and 34, who were involved in the fight, were caught. The images shared by the authorities allow these people to be seen being transferred to detention centers. Their identities were not disclosed.
