On Friday, December 15, a powerful earthquake shook the country again. A 4.3 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Chocó region.

According to a bulletin from the Colombian Geological Service, epicenter was Riosucio13 km from Mutatá in Antioquia.

The earthquake occurred at around 15.24 and its depth was less than 30 km.

Reactions such as “It was strong”, “Envigado was under siege”, “It was stronger than this morning” were seen on social networks.

On the ‘I felt the earthquake’ platform, approximately 37 people reported feeling the earthquake in the municipalities of Mutatá (Antioquia), 13 km away; Dabeiba (Antioquia) 35 km and Uramita (Antioquia) 49 km.

Intensity ranging from 1 to 7 was classified as 5, meaning “strongly felt”.

The Geological Service of Colombia (SGC) confirmed that an earthquake of magnitude 4.3 was recorded in the municipality of Sampués (Sucre) this Friday at around 12:15.

Initial reports from citizens indicate that the outbreak was also felt in Beforelejo, Sahagún and other municipalities in the Caribbean Region.

“This was felt in Chinú, I was at my desk and noticed how my chair and computer were moving,” one Internet user said.

In an expansion of the report, the Colombian Geological Service confirmed that the depth was 63 km.
