Apple had planned to include body temperature measurement with the Apple Watch Series 7, but that never materialized, so in May analyst Ming-Chi Kuo tweeted that the company’s feature in the Apple Watch Series 7 was due to issues with the Apple Watch Series 7. He claimed it was cancelled. the reliability of the algorithm that produces accurate temperature measurements.

According to Mark Gurman at Bloomberg, rumor has it that the new Apple The Watch Series 8 will be the first model to include body temperature detection in addition to other health monitoring updates.

The body temperature feature doesn’t give you a specific value like a forehead or wrist thermometer, but it should be able to tell if it thinks you have a fever, which is useful for screening for other illnesses.

Infrared thermometers in a smartwatch can vary a lot as being in a warm indoor or cold outdoor location affects the readings. and so algorithms will be required to make accurate assessments.

The new version of the Series 8 device is also expected to be more robust and aimed at athletes, but Bloomberg noted: body temperature measurements probably won’t come to a new version of the Apple Watch SE to keep your price competitive against cheaper competing offers.
