This Saturday is a New homophobia complaint in a neighborhood of the town of Engativá. According to early versions, a young couple was threatened with sticks and insulted by residents after seeing them kiss. The truth was denied by various sections of the civilian population.
The video of the case went viral on social networks and caused multiple rejection reactions for what happened. One of them was mayor Claudia López, who said via her Twitter account: “There is a video circulating of a homophobic and violent act in a park. We absolutely reject it! It may be in Bogota! Our teams are in contact with the victims to support them. Until equality becomes traditional We will fight”.
In a show of support for the affected couple and as a way to reject discrimination based on sexual orientation, dozens of citizens, mostly from the LGBTIQ+ community, called for kissing in the park where the events took place.
