A new Genshin Impact leak reveals a lot of information about the Sumeru region, which will be released in version 3.0.
In Genshin Impact, almost every update adds a new location to the game. The previous version 2.6 introduced the Rift region, which is rumored to serve as a bridge between Liyue and a new major region called Sumeru.
Sumeru has been mentioned numerous times in the game, being described by many NPCs as a mysterious land filled with deserts and forests. A new Genshin Impact leak has provided additional information about this location and its position on the map.
One of the most reliable sources, GenshinBLANK, has revealed a lot of information. He tweeted an interesting post that shows the location of the new region on the current map, but it should be noted that the top right is probably empty. As for the size of the new location, a source confirmed that Sumeru will be larger than Li Yue, which is currently the largest region. They also revealed that just like Inazuma, players won’t have the full area unlocked in Sumeru’s first update.
As for Sumeru’s release date, various rumors have hinted that Update 2.8 will likely be Inazuma’s last update, which means Update 3.0 should be available by the end of August. The update, which will include the new location, has been a hot topic in the Genshin Impact community, though the upcoming 2.8 update will add the fan-favorite Golden Appel Archipelago summer event. One of the main reasons why there is so much hype around Sumeru is probably the fact that it will feature the highly anticipated Dendro item.
