The ‘player’ market is getting more and more competitive. While there are companies that have been focused on serving this industry since birth, other historically recognized brands are also entering the market, as JBL has done with its Quantum series.

Dominated mainly by headbands, this family of gaming headphones has options to suit every taste and budget, without neglecting the essentials: comfort and quality.

At EL TIEMPO we had the opportunity to test the Quantum 600 for several weeks and these are our main impressions.

For starters, these matte black headbands with RGB lights are comfortable for long days of wear: their earcups swivel and easily conform to the contours of the head. Plus, memory foams are firm yet soft, so you won’t feel undue pressure on your ears.

In addition, they are so well embossed and fit so well that they manage to provide a great passive cancellation of outside noise.

On the other hand, it must be said that these are versatile headphones. Having a 3.5mm connector on one hand makes it easy to use with mobile devices, computers and consoles.

It can also be used wirelessly via bluetooth with 2.4 GHz connection, with or without the USB adapter included in the box.

Volume control buttons, power on and off, volume leveling between game and chat, USB port and 3.5mm connection. They are located under the headphones. While everything is easily accessible, having all the controls so close together can be a bit overwhelming.

Added to these are a 3.5mm wired cable, which also includes a volume control and one for turning the microphone on and off.

As for the latter, it’s a non-removable folding pole that opens and closes when going up or down, in addition to special buttons. It has a small LED bulb to indicate its status.

Generally speaking, he has a balanced and well-defined voice. Charging time is two hours and takes a maximum of 14 hours.

We were also able to test the JBL Wave 200TWS, a simple and compact earphone that offers a range of up to five hours, as well as 15 more supplied by the charging case.

They feel pretty solid to the touch and can feel insecure when placed in the ear as the rubber bands don’t go deep into the ear. However, this does not mean that they fall off at the slightest movement.

Its sound is bright and could improve in terms of bass definition. It is IPX2 rated and can be used with only one hearing aid.
