“It’s over for us.” These were the words spoken by Ramón Guisado, owner of the Ramguiflex mattress factory, which has been on fire since Wednesday morning He said the fire brigade is still working to check.
(
In an interview with RCN Radio, Guisado assured that this company, located on Calle 80 with 115, west of Bogotá, is the result of over 32 years of hard work, with “not a single accident” occurring.
“Truth is very powerful. Finally got the job of a lifetime, but I still think it’s where people meet in tough times. Everything is over for us,” said the factory owner.
The man told RCN Radio microphones that Ramguiflex is a “very prosperous” company, adding that it was “a business that started with fingernails and it’s sad to see it all ended overnight.”

However, he said the material has been recovered and is now available. What worries him most is that the factory employs more than 450 people.in addition to the company-owned suppliers and 1,800 customers.
“There are a lot of people who trust us. This is the part that worries me the most, material things come and go, we go back and build and one day we start over with our nails, but we have to give sustainability to all this,” he added.
Fortunately, everyone in the build is “safe,” Guisado said, and the company always has insurance for its collaborators. He also stated that the causes of the fire are still being investigated.
“With God’s help, we’ll be on our way. Great company,” he concluded.
Although the emergency seems to have already been brought under control, the Fire Brigade reported that around 4:30 p.m. the fire had flared up again and there were structures on the verge of collapse. The rapidly advancing flames also reached another neighboring factory.
The emergency is responded to with three extinguishing machines, one for flammable liquids, a tanker and a pickup truck with personnel. There has been no news of the injured so far.
Due to the emergency, authorities closed Calle 80 to prevent vehicular traffic. A lane opened around 3pm, so mobility in the area was restricted.
