TikTok announced that the second screening of its partnership with the 2023 Cannes Film Festival will be presented with the launch of the #TikTokShortFilm competition edition.

Content creators in Colombia and around the world Can register from 6 to 29 March 2023 Via the official form to create and share your own short films using the hashtag #TikTokShortFilm.

Out of the 40 shortlisted videos with the highest number of views and views last year, a jury will select the winners in three categories: Big Winner, Best Screenplay, and Best Directorand TikTok will invite them to the 76th Cannes Film Festival to present their work and receive their awards.

winning The Grand Prix will receive a cash prize of 10,000 euros (approximately 50,257,481 pesos). The winners of the Best Screenplay and Best Director categories will each receive 5,000 euros to support their next creative project.

The #TikTokShortFilm competition was first held in 2022 and brought together different artists to showcase their skills through TikTok’s extensive creative tools.

Nearly 10 billion views achieved in 2022 and four creators from four different countries were awarded:

• Grand Prix: Kitte kitte (Japan), Mabuta Motoki (@lang_pictures)
• Grand Prix: Love In Plane Sight (Slovenia), by Matej Rimanic (@rimanic)
• Best Editing: Zero Gravity (New Zealand), Tim Hamilton (@tim.diddle) • Best Screenplay: Modern Princess (France), Claudia Cochet (@claudia_cochet).
