After this meeting, the Colombian Geological Service (SGC) recording at least 12,000 earthquakes daily.
“The orange alert remains until the situation changes. We cannot predict or determine what will happen, but we hope to be on yellow alert. Our activity is to generate daily reports and see if there is a change in activity.“, stated SGC director Julio Fierro Morales at a press conference.
Meanwhile, UNGRD director Javier Pava Sánchez noted that all protocols at the municipal and departmental level have been activated to deal with such emergencies.

“The evacuation process of the municipalities that may be affected is coordinated with all institutions. This means: we will provide communities with detailed information on how to evacuate In the event of a possible volcanic eruption”, Pava detailed during media attention.
