Disney continues to offer live action from its animated classics and this time it tries the mythological map with the colorful Herculeswhich will be directed by Guy Ritchie, whose style and success from the previous Aladdin bodes well for this operation.
The film will be produced by AGBO, the company founded by the Russo Brothers, which is increasingly being launched in the round, while the screenplay will be reworked based on an initial draft written by Dave Callaham.
Further details are not yet known, but in all likelihood we can expect a major production, with a theatrical release and not only on Disney+, besides of course preserving the musical soul of the original, even though it was already two years ago when de Russo had announced that they wanted to start work on the project, they said:
I think we need to bring something new to the table – said Anthony Russo – as a storyteller I can say that from our point of view we are not convinced by the idea of doing some kind of makeover to the letter. We didn’t do this with the Marvel movies either, because we think if you want that story, you can start reading it straight into the comics. We offer something different. We will do something that will be in the strings of the original material, but enriched with new elements.
We look forward to updates, even if it will be a while before we have decisive information, such as the casting of the protagonist.
