According to Colombian legal records, Ana Griselda Blanco Restrepo was born on February 5, 1943 in Cartagena. And all this in the midst of a failed kidnapping, during which he also tried to deceive the victim’s family. Due to her age, she was not sent to prison.
In 1964, already a mother of three children, she immigrated to the United States illegally and, together with her husband, began selling small amounts of cocaine and marijuana in New York. Despite being only 21, he had already been accused of a number of crimes, including another murder and suspected membership of a small-time cartel in Cartagena. Even then he was accused of recruiting young women. send them with drug shipments hidden in their underwear.
Throughout the decade and the early years of the next, Blanco became an important instigator.. Especially after the murder of her husband in 1975, when she was convinced that he was hiding profit data from her. Colombian crime empire
By the early 1980s, Griselda Blanco had a long criminal record. The death of the first husband was supplemented by the execution in the middle of the street of the third. At the same time, his drug empire grew to become one of the largest in the world. It was then that she was nicknamed the Black Widow and began to be feared. Not only because of her cruelty, but also because, according to some of her loved ones, she was obsessed with revenge.
By the end of 1981, Blanco was responsible for smuggling 1.5 tons of cocaine into North America each month.
