Good news for Fire TV device users. Max, a new app that replaces the previous HBO app and makes important changes from the previous streaming platform. It’s now available on Amazon devices.
Amazon confirmed this The Max app is available on Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Stick 4K Max and Fire TV Cube for free. It can now be downloaded through the app store. In parallel, the company confirmed that Amazon Prime customers who subscribe to Max will also be able to purchase an additional sports package, the price of which is 5 euros per month from the price of a subscription to the platform.
On the other side, Max will also be available on Prime Video channels.where you can directly access Max’s original content.
Finally, the Max app also gets Full integration with Alexa. Users will be able to ask Amazon’s voice assistant to open an app, play specific content, and more.
With this, Max solves an important disadvantage of HBO. The streaming platform is available on Fire TV devices for the first time, as previous apps were not compatible with Amazon’s content streaming devices.
Max is now available with two new plans
Max is available starting today, May 21st, with two new plans. On the one hand, the “Basic” plan, which includes the ability to play content in Full HD format and support two devices simultaneously, as well as support for 30 downloads, for 9.99 euros per month. On the other hand, the Premium plan with 4K and Dolby Atmos content, support for four devices and up to 100 downloads for 13.99 euros per month.
Users with an active HBO Max subscription will see their plan upgrade to Basic (€9.99 per month), although they can switch to Premium at any time. On the other hand, those who have the 50% lifetime offer will retain the promotion on the Basic plan, but will lose it if they upgrade to the Premium plan.
