Disney+ revealed yesterday that the Disney and Pixar movies Lightyear – The True Story of Buzz comes streaming on August 3, 2022: confirmation for our country arrives today, along with a message from director Angus MacLane.

Lightyear – Buzz’s True Story is obviously great on the big screen, but we’re excited to bring it to Disney+. We have devoted years of our lives to this film and we are very proud of it. We want to share it with as wide an audience as possible. Disney+ not only gives more fans the opportunity to see Lightyear – Buzz’s True Story, but also allows us all to watch it whenever we want.

New Disney & Pixar Lightyear Adventure – Buzz’s True Story tells the origin of Buzz Lightyear, the hero who inspired the Toy Story toys, and follows the legendary Space Ranger after he becomes trapped on a hostile planet 4.2 million light-years from the earth, along with his commander and their crew. As Buzz tries to find his way home through time and space, he is joined by a group of ambitious recruits and his irresistible companion, robot cat, Sox. The arrival of Zurg, a massive presence with an army of ruthless robots and a mysterious ending, complicates matters and jeopardizes the mission.

Lightyear – Buzz’s True Story is directed by Angus MacLane (co-director of Finding Dory) and produced by Galyn Susman (Toy Story: Another World). The film’s soundtrack is autographed by award-winning composer Michael Giacchino (The Batman, Up).

In the Italian version of the film, Alberto Boubakar Malanchino (Buzz Lightyear), Ludovico Tersigni (Sox), Esther Elisha (Alisha Hawthorne) and Linda Raimondo who plays a cameo borrow their voices. In addition, Scuderia Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz make cameos in the Italian and Spanish versions of the film, respectively.
