Not everyone at Comic-Con 2022 is Marvel. Another main character attending the San Diego convention is DC, who during his panel finally showed us first trailer forShazam! Fury of the gods. Film to be released next 21 December, is one of Warner’s strongest cards in the second half of this year. Of course, it will not be easy at the box office, since his release coincides with the release of Avatar 2: Water Sense.

Anyway, progress Shazam! Fury of the gods shown at Comic-Con 2022 foreshadows a feature film that will once again be a spin-off in combination of action and comedy. However, Shazam won’t be the only superhero to grab attention this time around. We must not forget that the end Shazam! I already expected that in the hypothetical sequel, the rest of the family would also have superpowers, and so it will. You can see the trailer below:

The eye, as you probably already appreciated in advance, confirms that Shazam! Fury of the gods will have multiple references to the DC Extended Universe. In fact, the superhero mentions Aquaman and Ben Affleck’s Batman. Although a brief Superman cameo was shown in the first film’s post-credits scene, unrest in the DCEU, including the eventual departure of Henry Cavill, has cast doubt on Shazam’s path in that universe. Now there are no doubts about this.

As DC commented (via TotalFilm), Shazam! Fury of the gods takes place two years after Shazam!, so the time jump won’t be that big. Besides the usual conflict with the villain, the sequel also aims to address the personal conflict of young people in their new life as superheroes. Especially when they know they share the world of the Justice League.

Most of the cast is back, with the exception of Michelle Borth, who gave birth to an adult version of Mary Bromfield. His place is now in the hands of Grace Fulton. The rest of the cast Shazam! Fury of the gods It consists of Zachary Levy (Shazam), Adam Brody (Freddie), Meagan Good (Darla), Ross Butler (Eugene), DJ Cotrona (Pedro) and Lucy Liu (Calypso). Meanwhile, the great Helen Mirren will become the villainous Hesperia, daughter of Atlas.
