On July 26, the documentary was released on the streaming platform Screambox Pennywise: the story of ITand to mark the occasion, Bloody Disgusting has released a series of unpublished behind-the-scenes photos from the 1990 TV miniseries featuring the performers of the Losers gang and the iconic Tim Curry.

Despite his health problems, Just Tim Curry seems to have been able to contribute to the documentary. Pennywise: The Story of IT also features previously unreleased behind-the-scenes footage from the miniseries.
The documentary features interviews with director Tommy Lee Wallace and team members Bart Mixon, Seth Green (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Emily Perkins (Ginger Snaps), Tim Reid (Sister, Sister).
The documentary was created by John Campopiano (Unearthed and Untold: The Path to Pet Sematary) and Christopher Griffiths (Leviathan: The Story of Hellraiser and Hellbound: Hellraiser II), and produced by Gary Smart, Brady William Gorman and Laurance Gornall.
