Netflix today releases the official teaser trailer and key art from Pinocchio by Guillermo del Toroan extravagant stop-motion version of the classic tale, set to hit Netflix in December.

Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro reinvents Carlo Collodi’s great classic, dedicated to the wooden puppet that magically comes to life, to warm the heart of Geppetto, a mourner. Directed by Guillermo del Toro and Mark Gustafson, this extravagant stop-motion film follows the reckless and unruly adventures of Pinocchio in his search for a place in the world.

The film features a great vocal cast with Ewan McGregor as Jiminy Cricket, David Bradley as Geppetto, while newcomer Gregory Mann provides the voice of Pinocchio. The vocal cast also includes Finn Wolfhard, Oscar winner Cate Blanchett, John Turturro, Ron Perlman, Tim Blake Nelson, Burn Gorman, along with Oscar winner Christoph Waltz and Oscar winner Tilda Swinton.

The film is not to be confused with Robert Zemeckis’ live action for Disney+ starring Tom Hanks as Geppetto:
