The TV series based on Secret Invasion has long been in the plans of Marvel Studios, who have been running it for a while and apparently with some consideration, as it could represent an important piece in the continuity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as confirmed by the new official synopsis.
The series of crossover events features a shape-shifting faction of Skrull that has been infiltrating Earth for years.
This is the official synopsis, at the moment: rather laconic, but completely in line with the plot of the comic saga, and could reserve numerous twists, prepared enough for some time … in Spider-Man: Far From Home and WandaVision, in fact, we have already mentioned the presence of the Skrulls hidden in human society, Skrulls that the movie TV audience has already come to know thanks to Captain Marvel. In the comics, a number of Skrulls have long taken the place of various public and world power figures, including quite a few superheroes, so on paper, this series can change a lot of cards or shockingly reconnect (or just cleverly) some events seen in previous movies or series. .
The series is scheduled to arrive on Disney+ next spring, starring Samuel L. Jackson finally back (in the role of Nick Fury, of course) and Ben Mendelsohn as the Skrull Talos. Cobie Smulders will also star, again as Maria Hill, Martin Freeman (Everett Ross) and Don Cheadle (James “War Machine” Rhodes).
In the cast, in roles that have not yet been clarified, also Emilia Clarke, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Killian Scott, Carmen Ejogo, Christopher McDonald, Thomas Bezucha and Ali Selim.
