The romantic comedy Rosalinelicense plate 20th century studios and starring Kaitlyn Dever (Revenge of the Losers, Dopesick – Statement of Addiction), will debut October 14 as Hulu Original in the United States, on Star+ in Latin America, and on Star Within Disney + in Italy.

Rosaline is a light-hearted and comedic retelling of Shakespeare’s classic love story “Romeo and Juliet,” told from the perspective of Juliet’s niece Rosaline (Dever), who also happens to be a recent romance for Romeo. When Romeo (Kyle Allen) meets Juliet (Isabela Merced) and begins courting her, Rosaline tries to sabotage the famous romance and win back her husband. The film, directed by Karen Maine (Yes, God, Yes), also stars Sean Teale (Skins), with Minnie Driver (Speechless) and Bradley Whitford (The Handmaid’s Tale).

The screenplay is by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber ((500) Days Together), based on the novel “When You Were Mine” by Rebecca Serle. The producers are Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen and Dan Levine, while Kaitlyn Dever, Scott Neustadter, Michael H. Weber and Emily Morris are the executive producers.
