Finally the first official photo of Lionsgate has been released The Hunger Games: The Ballad of the Nightingale and the Snake, prequel to the Katniss saga starring the young Coryo Snow, who will then play the villain role in the main saga as an adult. In the recording, we see Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth) and Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler) in a (rare) moment of calm and intimacy, certainly not very indicative of what, instead, the plot of the novel is at the base from the movie.

The photo was published exclusively by Vanity Fair and immediately relaunched on social media by protagonist Rachel Zegler.
For the occasion, director Francis Lawrence (veteran of the saga) and producer Nina Jacobson made some statements.
It’s definitely a love story. It’s that kind of love story set in a different kind of world, in a different time. A truly intimate love story.
says Lawrence, who adds:
Not to judge, but Lucy Gray is the anti-Katniss. She is a musician, an artist, a sorceress of multitudes. Snow has never met such a girl.
Producer Jacobson, on the other hand, states:
[Coryo, ndr] He is a young man who finds his way in the world, but also makes choices that foreshadow the type of man he will become.
stylistically, [il film, ndr] it’s completely different [dai precedenti, ndr] in terms of design, characters and point of view. It was exciting to be able to showcase another part of Panem at a different time in its history.
The cast of the film (which will be released in 2023) also includes Hunter Schafer (in the role of Tigris, sister of Coriolanus), Viola Davis (in that of Dr. Volumnia Gaul) and Peter Dinklage in the role of Casca Highbottom .
This is the summary of the movie:
Years before he became the tyrannical president of Panem, 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow is the last hope for the good name of his dilapidated home: a proud family that fell out of favor in postwar Capitol City. As the 10th edition of the Hunger Games approaches, young Snow fears for his reputation as a mentor to Lucy Gray Baird, the tribute girl from the wretched District 12. But when Lucy Gray sings the entire nation of Panem with an air of defying the harvest Snow realizes he can turn the tide in his favor. Combining their instincts for showmanship and political cunning, Snow and Lucy will try to survive by starting a race against time to decide who is the nightingale and who is the snake.
